Daring more democracy for unibz
Do you feel heard within unibz? The unibuzzLAB gives you a voice in the decision-making processes at our university—and if you don’t know what to say about a topic it will help you to take perspectives in dialogue with others.
The problem: unibz students feel underrepresented
As a survey has shown, almost 70 % of unibz students assess their influence on the didactic decisions of unibz as below effective. Not a single one evaluated their possibilities as “satisfyingly impactful”. Currently, students show an alarming disregard about topics which concern them; the devastating voter’s turnout during the student elections in April 2021 substantiates this observation. It can’t be phrased differently: the students and the unibz governing bodies are alienated from each other. How might a vibrant wire between them look like? What would it need on the campus to foster the bidirectional accessibility of both ends?
A mindful dialogue between you and your representatives
Participation is an important factor for anybody to feel happy and addressed in systemic contexts. Likewise, an institution needs its community’s input to stay dynamic and vibrant. The cultural and infrastructural implementation of such participation must be politics: as the art of debating, negotiating and deciding, politics itself is a highly social sphere.
